PCI v4 requires pinpad terminals to restart once every 24 hours. To stay PCI compliant your pinpads are set to restart every 24 hours. To ensure the restart time does not interfere with your stores operation the restart time can be scheduled on your pinpad by following the steps below.
Ensure your pinpad is set to the correct local time.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the pinpad and press the back arrow twice.
- Enter the password pax9876@@
- Select “Settings”.
- Select “System” then “Date and Time”
- Ensure that the correct time zone is set.
Now the pinpad is set to your current time zone.
Set the reboot time
- From the home screen select “Settings”.
- Select “Security” then scroll down and select “Scheduled reboot time”
- Press the keyboard button to enter the time more easily.
- Enter the desired reboot time and press “OK”
The pinpad will now be set to reboot at the specified time, you can restart the pinpad to launch the payment application or launch it from the home screen.
